MICHELLE OLIVA

I COACH, TRAIN AND ADVISE MISSION-DRIVEN

leaders and teams across nonprofit, public and corporate sectors in the US and internationally. In 2018, I returned to school for an Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University, and also hold an MBA from ESADE Business School in Barcelona, and a BA in Music Performance from Manhattan School of Music. Since serving as a US Peace Corps volunteer, I have worked in more than 15 countries across North America, UK and Europe, East and Southern Africa, Central America, and South Asia, and has lived in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, South Sudan, and Spain. I now happily ground myself in Charlottesville, Virginia.

I am a bass clarinet player and young composer - writing my first composition, Intertwine for jazz ensemble, in 2018. Classically-trained, I love exploring across genres from free music and avant-garde jazz to indie to contemporary classical. I first discovered MIMA back in 2017 as a guest Teaching Artist. I love the communal experience it offers to collaborate and unlock creativity through improvisation and play.
